The Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading Principles (QCF) is aimed at learners working within a team leading role.

The minimum contact hours for this course is 55. The course is delivered over 7 days, which can run consecutively or one day per week for seven weeks.

Learners will study three units:

  • Developing productive working relationships
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues
  • Managing conflict with colleagues
  • Managing diversity in working relationships
  • Information exchange and feedback
  • Leadership Styles and ways of supporting, motivating and encouraging teams
  • Managing conflict when leading a team
  • Identifying work-related difficulties and solutions

Managing yourself and providing direction to your team

  • Resource management
  • Planning and undertaking development
  • Monitoring your own development
  • Identifying team leading qualities
  • Planning within team leading

Communicating information and knowledge within the workplace

  • Identifying information and it's reliability for communication
  • Communication techniques
  • Adapting communication techniques within teams
  • Planning and allocating work for a team
  • Leading team members to achieve team objectives
  • Monitoring and evaluating team performance

Learners will be assessed by the tutor throughout the course, and will also build a portfolio of evidence to submit to the awarding body.
